We are looking for people that are interested in helping guide the fields of Physical Education and Health in North Dakota! As a board member, you will help make decisions that could affect all of our teachers in our state. NDSHAPE works with the Department of Public Instruction, the ND State Department of Health, the American Heart Association, and the ND Council of Educational Leaders, as well as many other organizations to improve the quality of Physical Education and Health Education in our state.
In this time of adopting ESSA in our state, it is important that our fields are represented to be sure funding is continued for our programs. If you are interested in helping to continue and improve quality professional development for professionals, program development, communication with other stakeholders in the field, and opportunities for pre-professional students, then you are the person we need.
Please click on the link below to submit your name for a position on the NDSHAPE board. We are looking for 4 board members and a VP General. Board member positions are two years, the VP General position will move into the President Elect/President/Past President positions as a four year term. Board meetings are on the first Wednesday of the month, from 8-9:30 pm. We use the Zoom conferencing application, so you can join the meeting on your computer or handheld device from home.
Nominations will be open until October 4, 2017. Elections will take place from October 8-13, 2017. The first board meeting for newly elected officers will be November 1, 2017, from 8-9:30 pm using the Zoom conferencing app.
